The Essentials Version of the Keurig K-Express
I’m going to talk about the Keurig K Express in this review. This is going to be my first one in a long time. As I try to keep up with Keurigs in the year 2020, I see that the 2.0 model is being pushed away in favour of sleekness, simplicity, and getting rid of “proprietary pods.”
This model has only been out for about a year, but I’m happy to say that it seems to be popular and well-received. It says there are over 8,000 as of this writing. Are we just in the honeymoon phase? Allow us to observe. For now, though, I’m going to tell you everything this little gift taught me.
Features
When seen from the front, the coffee maker looks pretty thin. The “strong brew” setting is great if you like a little extra.
Measures
At 12.6 inches tall, it’s pretty small (17.2 inches when fully opened).
5 inches across and 12 inches deep.
If you take the drip tray off, you can put a cup up to seven inches high under it. The length of the power cord is 27.5 inches.
As part of:
There might be a water filter kit included as well. A one-year guarantee and easy-to-follow instructions are included, of course.
A set-aside
One of its tanks can hold 42 ounces of water. A good medium-sized one that could last all day if needed. That is enough for daily use of two to four cups. You can see the water tank best from the back and sides.
Bottle for Drip
This makes it easy to put in a mug or to-go cup because the drip tray can slide out.
Keys and controls
Icons are in the upper right corner. It has an on/off button, three different brew sizes, and a strong brew choice. You can get a beer in three different sizes: 8, 10, and 12. The words “Add water” and “Descale” are two examples of blue lights.
The Most Crucial Type
The version that looked like the one you saw but was different colors was probably the Essentials version. This model caught my eye at Walmart. As you can see, it comes in two colors: a pretty blue and a lovely vintage red. After giving it a close look, I saw that it is the “Essentials” version. The picture below shows that its form is a little more linear. The truth is that I like it better.
It feels strong when I open and close the brew chamber. As you can see, it doesn’t have any metal or shiny parts and looks matte. The front buttons are soft and are located on the front.
The following image shows the main differences between the two:
Reviews and ratings from customers of the Keurig K-Express
Very positive, in my opinion. It was very unusual for a brewery that had only been open for a year, and the ranking seemed pretty good all around. Every good review I read said it was “great size,” and it was. It worked out to be the right size for camping, off-roading, dorm rooms, offices, and kitchenettes. Almost all of the people who answered agreed that the temperature was right, which isn’t always a good way to compare different brewer types.
Compared to “regular,” most people who used the “strong brew” choice liked and preferred the taste. For those of you who drink tea (I know that’s important)
People didn’t like the comments about the missing water filter kit. This was clearly an error, but it wasn’t enough to take away performance points. I think the biggest problem is the number of complaints about how the refillable K-cups they were using didn’t work with other products. It was hard to tell if this was a big deal-breaker because people didn’t say what brand they used, but I did decide that using the proprietary name (My K-Cup) was important to ensure success.
Thoughts on the “weirdly placed” buttons? I agree—the corner is an odd spot for those. It’s unclear to me whether this was done to minimize the design or if there was a mistake in the method used.
Benefits
- Right amounts
- Little
- has a strong situation for brewing
- Accepts tumblers
Troublesome issues
- Since there are so many good reviews, is it too early to say?
- Some people thought that some refilling K-cups did not work well.
One of the “Essentials” is what you need to buy if you want a shade other than black. Right now, only Walmart has these.
Spending
I think it’s fair that it’s less than $100 right now. when you look at how big it is and what it can do.
In the end
Although I like it, I’d rather have the Essentials one since it’s red. It’s a great choice for camping or living in a hotel. It also comes with a small kitchen or kitchenette.
